Novena starts at St Mary’s Basilica ahead of Nativity Feast

Bengaluru, Aug 29: The novena, a preparation for the feast of our Lady of good health at St Mary’s Basilica, began on Monday, August 29.

The first mass began at 5.30 am. Masses will be held in every half an hour in all the three languages. At 6.30 am Archbishop offered a thanksgiving mass at St Mary’s Basilica with senior and retired priests of archdiocese.

In the evening, the first novena flag was blessed and hoisted. The flag with Our Lady image was blessed by Archbishop Bernard Moras and K J George, former home minister of Karnataka was the chief guest who hoisted the blessed flag.

Thousands of Christians and people belonging to other faiths had gathered in a big number to profess and witness their faith in our lady of good health. The flag was hoisted with their loving slogan ‘AVE MARIA’ with hands lifted in a symbolic gesture of surrendering themselves for her blessings.
