'Pretty Little Liars' to end after season 7

Los Angeles, Aug 30 (IANS): Popular American teen drama series "Pretty Little Liars" will be ending after its seventh season.

After much speculation over the future of the show, its lead actresses Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse and creator I. Marlene King announced the "bittersweet" news in a Facebook Live broadcast on Monday from the show's set, where the final batch of episodes is being filmed, reports eonline.com.

"It's been such an amazing chapter of our lives and we're so glad that you guys could share it with us, but all good things must come to an end and these last 10 episodes are pretty crazy," Hale said.

While King had hinted at the possibility that the show could continue in a different form after season seven, the group confirmed that the last ten episodes will mark the end of the series.

The second half of season seven will premiere in April 2017 in the US.
