Mangaluru: Pipe breaks at Adyar, water supply to city interrupted

Mangaluru, Aug 31: As one of the two pipes carrying water to city from Thumbay broke near Adyar on the night of Tuesday August 31, water supply to city will remain interrupted.

Though it looks like a small problem, it is remembered that the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) had taken 5 days to repair same type of problem last year.

Mayor Harinath said that the pipe will be repaired at the soonest and water supply will be restored.

Presently Mangaladevi Bolar, Shakthinagar Hampanakatta Bondel and Kavoor areas in city are not receiving water.

    Mr Shanu Your comment is 100% true.There was a Automobile Engineer was leading Civil Engineering Group. What can be achieved through Him. Padil Underpass is one example to prove the Smart City Agenda.
    There is a exposed main Pipe line on a main road. I have taken Photo of this particular Pipe and showed to previous MCC Commissioner and also to Mayor Harinath. When I showed it to Commissioner,there was Engineer present and Commissioner requested this stupid person to take action soon. This person probably on payroll due to Political influence and not on qualification. He did not take this matter seriously at all. Then I went to PA of Commissioner and showed Him the Photo and explained the situation but not a stone moved through Him either.
    I do not want to Publish the spot any more until a Road Roller breaks this pipe and shuts down water supply to City. Then I will question the MCC through Daiji World and other Media with NGO's.
    This same incident happened last time and city was without water for 5 days. This happened in the same area of Kannur-Adyar where Pipe line is exposed. I was on my way to Adyar Panchayat and saw a tipper dumping building material on the line. Showed photo to Adyar Panchayat and they asked me to talk to Taluk Panchayat. In this office,the Person I spoke,told me to talk to Zilla Panchayat. In this office they told Me to talk to Highway Dept. Highway dept. told me to inform MCC as Pipe Line belongs to MCC.Finally I stopped at Chief utive Engineers office at MCC. He took the matter seriously with a show that He will take action. He took real action that He took retirement and relaxed but City folks suffered.

    ಒಬಿರಾಯನ ಕಾಲದ ಪೈಪ್ ಲೈನ್ ಇನ್ನೂ ತೆಪೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವ ಕೆಲಸ ನಡಿತಿದೆ ಪೈಪ್ ನ ಮೆಲೆ ಮಣ್ಣು ಹಾಕಿ ಪೈಪ್ ತುಕ್ಕು ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯವರು ನೀಡಿದ ಆದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಲೆ ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗಿದೆ.

    DONT WORRY FOR THE BREAKAGE.
    WE HAVE EFFICIENT AND EXTRA ORDINARY ENGINEERS WORKING FOR MCC.
    CONSTRUCTION OF THE ROADS , SPENDING THE SAME AMOUNT ON THE SAME ROAD EVERY YEAR IS THE PROOF OF THEIR ABILITY.
    PADIL BAJAL UNDERPASS IS THE LATEST EXAMPLE FOR THEIR EXCELLENCY.
