Daijiworld Media Network-Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Aug 31 : In an interesting case reported from Bengaluru city, four traffic police personnel were suspended after they were found taking Rs 200 bribe from Uber taxi driver on Tuesday, Aug 30.

A passenger of the Uber taxi seated in the rear seat clicked the photo and video of police personnel taking bribe from the cab driver and sent the same to additional commissioner of police for Traffic R Hitendra.  Immediately, Hitendra asked DCP Girish to enquire about the incident based on the video footage. Girish later confirmed that, traffic cop accepted money without paying receipt to the cab driver.

R Hitendra

R Hitendra suspended head constable Jagadish, and constables Yogendra, Ananth Kumar and Arun. These four cops were patrolling at the place.

R Hitendra's act has been widely appreciated by the citizens. This will inspire more people to complain to the higher authorities when officials are involved in any wrong doings.

R Hitendra had previously rendered his service as police commissioner of Mangaluru.

Why suspension? If it's a crime, then they shud be arrested and dismissed from service...isn't it. Is it so difficult to understand ?
With due respect Sir please stop playing it safe....and act hard on them

I have known Mr. Hitendra for a long time as a forthright and honest man sparing none of the wrong-doors. I am not surprised at all at his attitude. His action in suspending cops for taking bribes is very much appreciated by the public.

Congrats to you Mr. Hitendra. Your attitude gives a clear picture and a lesson that none will be spared whether civilians or police.
