Sullia: Male students wear saffron shawls opposing policy of allowing burqa in college

Daijiworld Media Network-Sullia (JD)

Sullia, Aug 31: Opposing the college managements stand for not taking the action against the students of the other community who wear burqa repeatedly in the college, some male students have started an unusual type of protest by wearing saffron shawl over their shirts since a few days in the government college at Peruvaje, Bellare near here.

The students have said that they will not stop this unless the principal takes suitable action against the female students wearing burqa.

This action of the students is being discussed in the social media and seems to lead towards clash between the students of different communities in the institution.

Some locals have criticised the attitude of male students targeting female student of different religion who wear burqa.

If you argue that burqa is not a sign of religion then they have all the right to say saffron shawl is not a sign of religion. No students, whether it is school or college, are allowed to wear casual dresses. Every school/college has a strict dress code. Not understanding what you are talking about "exposing"... or for that matter "covers"

Is wearing a saffron shawl helping you to be better version of yourselves..then definitely please wear it.
I feel the institution should allow it assuming it's a sacred thing the kids want to practice or may be get a consent from their parents that the shawl is mandatory.

Let the schools or colleges bring same uniform code in instution how can we display religious
Problem in india is we don't have unfirom. Civil code let government treat every one equally no need any consedration to anyone at the end more than useful it creates problem

As long as people fight in name of religion
Our politician will take benfit of it at the end people have nothing they make money and enjoy thier life
People who live out of india will all know the fact when we meet mangalore .we don't ask for his religion we all treat them same
But In india it's all.happening for political benefits as long as citizens of Indian doesn't change thier mind politicians will keep us cheating at the end everyone is
Suffering instead of doing all this let everyone live happily
God has gifted. Enough natural resource in india like water tress rain fresh air he dint.ask only one faith can use and other don't use it it's all we humans do this
At the end we only suffer was hopeing new.genaction people will not have any religious issues but everything is completely change more than 80 so or 90 people r fight for religious things like.anything

It is absolutely sad to see the state now, religion should be within homes and not bought out in the open especially not in campuses. I feel this is only a "Trailor". The big picture is yet to come in all colleges.More color and fun to see in coming days and years in South Kanara and Udipi. I do not understand why same mentality is not there in Dharwad Shimoga,, Bangalore which is our capital or Mumbai ! or Delhi. Surely Mangalore is progressing ?!.May be Mangalore is on a fast pace than other cities.

I agree with you Jaimini. Muslim women main belief in observing Burqa is to protect their modesty. But here these boys wearing saffron shawls is no wear related to Religious belief but only to spread hatred.

Meaningless preaching from their masters who have advised them to wearing shawl.

Instead of creating such nonsense the future of India should be busy in doing productivity act which can benefit others.

What is brewing among these young minds of Hindustan...,
On one side the Chief of Parivar outfit profess that Hinduism is all about love, faith & intimacy...,
Looking at the action/reaction of these parivar outfit admirers giving a message to the society that RSS chief's words are nothing but a laughing subject or a FEKU one.

I think over democracy in India is backfiring us. People's dress, food everything turning to communal angle. We may need Marshall law or communist govt in India. So that govt should not allow the people to bring the religion in public places, Institutions, offices etc. Keep the religion at home don't bring it to the streets. Religion is to follow and not to fight each other. Shame on this saffron goons for fighting against girls...

Wearing saffron shawls is no wear related to Religion. There is no such saffron shawl or Flag or Lungi is mentioned in any of Hindu scripture.

These children are dancing to their saffron masters tune, simply to oppose as they have been asked to oppose even when it looks totally illogical.

By wearing shawl are they protecting their modesty??

Better use that shawl to hang their masters for their foolish advise.

This is purely the result of their upbringing. Future goons for sure.
Why should women stope wearing burkha? No college/ goons have rights to stop anybodys religious dress code.
Burkha protects women from the evil eyes of these kind of street loiters.
These boys are going to be the future rowdies/rapists/ robbers if not brought under control NOW.

This is utter rubbish. Wearing the burqa is a personal choice and as per the religious standards. Every religion has its own rules and regulations and norms to adhere to. Does not Hindu religion call for shaving of the head for funeral rites etc. Don’t they do it or do other religions protest it. Grow up boys you are the future of India, don’t take it to the dumps, but let India shine for all to see. We are a gigantic country, with equally big hearted people living in it, don’t let the folly of a few lost Indians ruin it all.

My support to Burqa Girls if they DON'T cover their face fully. Wearing Burqa is a Muslim Community tradition,culture..Let them continue it..At least some people are interested in continuing their tradition or Culture..But if Girls cover their face fully, action has to be taken by Principal..Teacher must know to whom he/she is teaching..There is a special Bond between Teacher and Students..If Girls want to cover face fully, let them do it at home and not in school and Colleges.

I have been living in Sharjah for the past 22 years..Even in Banks and Emirates Telecommunications,Arab Female Employees wear Burqa with face open..Very decent and disciplined style.

    Jaimini P.B,

    Let me clear.

Wherever Hijab/Burqa matter is rising they only requesting authorities to permitted wear Burqa (covered body) in campus and class. But not face covered, Any Muslim girl not demand to allow full cover face in class and also that not a sense.

and some School authorities not given permission to wear burqa inside the campus and protest going on this matter but not for "Full covered face in class"

Mr.Jaimin, don't compare Gulf country dress code to Indian dress code.

No.1. If any Educational Institute have their dress code, I mean uniform then before you are taking admission in that institution, you have to decide whether to follow the their rules or not. After accepting the terms & condition, you can't decline or break the rules.

No.2. There are many Islamic Institution in India where they can get admission & enjoy their dressing style.

No.3. If you compare India to any other Muslim country, then Egypt also a Muslim country, why can't you follow their dressing style?

So better be an Indian & follow the rules.

We in India respect all religion, India is not of any single religion but you have to respect the rules , particularly if you are not following Educational institutions rules , then what is the need of getting education?
Last 31 years I am working in Gulf countries & visited most of the Islamic countries & seen their dressing style.

No need any survey, just if you watch Egyptian movie, you will come to know every thing.

Burqua or any form of dress which conceals identity of a person shall be banned in public places. As an individual, it is my right to to know with whom I am sharing a public place and it is my moral and legal right to have him/her identified to protect my rights. Example: Wearing a burquah with face cover and driving a vehicle shall be banned. In the case of accident, my right to identify the criminal is compromised here. What funny democracy and equality we are practicing in this banana republic?!........
