'Ghaazi' is Tapsee's Only Telugu Project for now

Mumbai, Sep 1 (IANS): Actress Tapsee Pannu has cut down on her Telugu projects for now as is currently doing just one film titled "Ghaazi".

"Right now unfortunately I am doing only one Telugu film, and that's 'Ghaazi'. It's a film both my co-star Rana Daggubati and I are very proud of," says Tapsee, adding that she's on the look-out for another Telugu project.

"Unfortunately I haven't been offered anything spectacularly inviting as of now in Telugu. After 'Ghaazi', I don't want to do anything inconsequential in any language ,be it Tamil Telugu or Hindi," he added.

Tapsee is extremely proud of "Ghaazi".

"Though it is set in the 1970s we don't go around trying hard to recreate the era with out clothes and music. It is a very important film on an important issue," she said.

The release date of the film is now being worked out.

"We have to find a Friday when both the Hindi and Telugu versions of the film can be released simultaneously. We cannot risk putting out one or the other first," said Tapsee.

She now looks forward to signing another Telugu film.

"When I did my career's first film 'Jummandi Nadam' in 2010 it was in Telugu. And I had a completely de-glamourised role in the film. I was so young and raw. Now I can speak Telugu and dub my own lines. It's been 6 years since I started in Telugu. I am still very much in touch with my roots," she said.

Even in Hindi cinema Tapsee has come a long way from "Chashme Buddoor" to "Pink". But she is still in touch with her "Chashme Budoor" team.

"David Uncle(director David Dhawan) who directed me in 'Chashme Buddoor' is still in touch with me. He rings me up to inquire about how my career is doing which new films I've signed. I think it's very sweet and touching," he said.
