Mangaluru: Children offer flowers to Infant Mary as part of novena

Mangalore, Sept 1: As a part of nine-day novena for the feast of nativity which began on Tuesday August 30, the children offered flowers to the statue of Infant Mary on Thursday, September 1at Blessed Mother Teresa church, Paldane.

Parish priest Fr Vincent V Menezes celebrated the holy Eucharist. A large number of children participated in novena to offer flowers onto the statue of Infant Mary.

The feast of Nativity of Mother Mary is preceded by nine days of devotion involving offering of flowers to Mary by Children.

The image of Infant Mary is placed on a table and devotees approach it and offer flowers from their trays as hymns are sung.

Some parishioners sponsor distribution of sweets for the children.
