Mangaluru, Sept 1: Former vice-chancellor of Hampi University and visiting professor of Vozberg University, Germany Prof BA Vivek Rai released ‘Ivan Dsouza-Marching towards Dream Realisation’, a book compiled by Ivan D’Souza, chief whip of Legislative Assembly of Karnataka, depicting his achievements and vision at Jeppu St Antony Ashram on Thursday September 1.

The program was inaugurated by Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza.

Speaking on the occasion, Bishop said, “Ivan has helped many needy and downtrodden in his journey of two years as a MLC. Politicians need to showcase their good work to public. In his first year as MLC, he had released his book at Infant Mary Ashram while this year it’s the St Antony Ashram.”

“Jesus always said that we are the light of the world and be the light on the footsteps of others. Likewise Ivan has been a ray of hope for many. I congratulate him on this occasion,” Bishop said.

Prof Vivek Rai in his address pointed out that “Ivan is an exception to the section of politicians who gain publicity through big projects.”

“He has identified many people in pain and helped them. When a person cries in pain no one recognises him, but Ivan has done that work ceaselessly.”

“This book draws a developmental map in economy of the state,” he added while speaking about the book.

Welcoming all to the gathering, Ivan D'Souza said, “Every legislator is accountable to people and to make people aware of my work, I have compiled this book. Among all developmental projects, the 3.10 crore rupees from chief minister’s special medical fund that enabled me to help many in the state has given me an immense pleasure. And If I have reached this position, it may be because of that.”

Interim president of the district Congress, Ibrahim Kodijal, Ivan D’souza's political guide lawyer Sitharam Shetty, Ivan D'souza's spouse Dr Kavitha D'souza and others were present on the occasion.

‘Ivan D’Souza-Marching towards Dream Realisation' is a 60 page book which includes the details of the various activities and projects Ivan D'Souza took up in the second year as a member of legislative council along with his vision for good governance.

Ivan is approachable at any time and he takes action immediately, even though he has to go out of the way to do it.

He is a fighter. I have interacted him on many occasions. Understand the pain of neglected, less privileged people.

We wish Ivan all the best.

There is a saying "A Dog praises his own tail", in the same way "Ivan is praising his own achievement". I feel like laughing at him releasing his own book of his own achievements done in two years. I have never seen an employee in a company praising that I am the best employee among all of you and my achievement should be publicized. Anyway politicians have become stupid than creative.

Congrats for releasing a self-authored book by ivanji depicting his own achievements.... As pro.vivek rai rightly pointed out some politicians gain publicity by big projects which indirectly implies some politicians like ivanji gain publicity by small projects! Which clearly indicates any help done to poor n needy must be published in a book. Good luck sir. Politics of new kind.
