Mangaluru: Bandh on Friday- Schools to remain open in DK, says DC

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Sep 1: As the nationwide strike called by the Left-affiliated central trade unions on September 2 to protest against anti-labour policies of the government is expected to result in total bandh with the support of many other associations and organisations, Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Dr K G Jagadish has said that all schools in the district will remain open.

He said that he held a meeting with police commissioner Chandra Shekar and superintendent of police Gulabrao Borase and they have taken adequate security measures to keep the district without any incidents.

He also said that he has asked the participants of strike to remain calm and observe bandh in a peaceful manner.

As buses and auto rickshaws will be off the roads tomorrow, children may not be able to reach the schools. Private school vehicles too may not operate fearing security. Only those children who stay nearer to the schools can make it as was the case during previous bandh.

When Bundh is declared DC knows that buses are not plying. Then what is the fun in DC's order to schools remain open. How can the teachers and students attend the classes from remote places.

Normal life is affected today since more than 15 crore govt and private sector employees have gone on a nationwide strike demanding minimum wages, stoppage of anti- labour policies of Modi govt. But, our chowkidar is holidaying outside the country.

Policies of Modi has gone to square one when foreign investors want proper labour policies and calm atmosphere. On the other hand, people like Ramdev want to throw foreign investors and a section of people create problems due to RSS policy.

I totally support bandh. Many people think that Modiji is great and working hard for India. But its the open show!. Hidden agenda is to suppress other religions, impose Hindutva agenda, create divide among people and make Ambani and Adani rich and make people poor by taxing everything!. All these are directly related to vote bank!. Anyway Modiji will not suffer bandh effects as he is going on another foreign tour today!!!!. Happy touring Modiji, don't worry about India! Amit Shah will take care!!!!

How come the private buses are supporting the bandh? they used to never support any political party. Suddenly they are supporting a bandh which is called by unions affiliated to political parties.

Why strike, anyone enlighten me pls. Is it for scrappage policy or harsher road fines or for some political compulsion. I have to pay 600 dirhams just for over speed here. Now concession of 50%, means paying 300 AED which equals to 5430 rupees. If I do strike here they will strike me out.
I am for for amendment of traffic fines in India. Fear of loosing money will make drivers road obedient. Mangalore city buses, express buses, auto, bikes- nightmare to dream.

@hereicome, no more concession of 50% for speeding since Aug 2016. Speeding fine starts from AED 600 now. Better drive safe.

I appreciate all the unions who will support the Friday's bandh. This is the fight 31% v/s 69%. Despite Sangha Parivar having some hold in Coastal districts of Karnataka, People opposing Modi directly by supporting bandh. I am wishing for the bandh all success. BJP & Modi get lost.

Someone like Lal Bahadur Shastri, There may be many such honest and aspiring Indians but political parties will never allow them to run the country at that time all politicians are one for their own mutual corrupt benefit.
