Mangaluru: Scornful post about Kateel goddess - temple to file complaint

Mangaluru, Sep 2: A consultative meet was held at Saraswati Sadana Kateel to discuss and take a decision about contemptuous remarks appearing about the presiding deity of the temple in certain social websites.

Addressing the gathering, trustee of the temple, Vasudeva Asranna, expressed displeasure at the situation that is turning to be harmful to righteousness and peaceful coexistence. He prayed to the god to bestow good sense in everyone.

Managing trustee of the temple, Dr Raveendra Poonja, said that written complaint will be sent to the government and concerned departments. He urged the devotees to repose trust on the decision of the goddess and not to resort to any sort of protests on this issue. The meeting also decided to pray to the goddess and then file complaint with Bajpe police station about the internet abuse. Towards this end, devotees from all over Dakshina Kannada district will meet at the temple on September 4, enter the temple premises at 3 pm accompanied by devotional songs in praise of the goddess, and offer special puja to the presiding deity at 4 pm.

Priest of the temple, Laxminarayana Asrana, Anantapadmanabha Asranna, Kamaladeviprasad Asranna, vice president of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, Kasturi Panja, Vedavyasa Udupa of Devasya Math, and a large number of dignitaries were present.

Harinarayana Asranna delivered introductory address. Sonda Bhaskar Bhat presented the programme.

In the meanwhile, Sri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swmiji of Manila Shreedhama has criticized the people driven by ulterior motive who have been spreading hatred by making distasteful remarks about gods and deities. He demanded strong action against perverted persons who he said, inflict damage on the entire society. A meeting to condemn the incident is being held at Vittal Lord Anantheshwara temple at 10.30 am on Friday September 2 with the participation of several heads of Maths, a release said.

At a meeting held at Soubhagya auditorium at Kolya on Thursday, a resolution to condemn this post was taken.

    Identity theft is one of the serious problem in the new internet era. Also duplicate identity,to stoke a religious tension is another problem which law enforcement need to be checked.

    The constitution of India has guarantees each citizen freedom to practice his own religion.

    Even Islam does not permit if person of Muslim Identity think so.

    There might be some elements who are assigned by political leaders to disrupt peace in the District.
    The praveen Poojary murder is a clear example of such incident.
    It is by luck the one survived can vouch for what happened and who did it.
    The Police should act swiftly and catch the culprits.

    it's just bullshit police can not track this culprit. With in to time IP address could be traced and can arrest this guy who has done it. it's only dramagiri which is pulling the subject for such a long time. Ideally he should be arrested and put under jail so that others don't get courage to do similar issue. Also I appreciate same rule applies to everybody who get in to such acts which is a real public risk. irrespective anything on Hindu Gods, Muslim gods, Christian.... nobody has right to do any such acts any religion. same action and should be same punishment. But fact is , everything goes for toss against money power... as I started the message... why the police can not reach the guy.
