Udupi: Kesardu Onji Kamala Kuta sports meet held

Udupi, Sep 2: People of all ages thoroughly enjoyed themselves at ‘Kesardu onji kamala kuta’ held at Kural field near Paduru Lachil road on Monday August 29.


















The rural mud-field sports meet was inaugurated by emerging farmer Mahabala Anchan Paduru, Kaup constituency. It was jointly organized by BJP Kaup constituency and the BJP Majuru standing committee.

Udupi-Chikmagalur MP, Shobha Karandlaje, was the main guest of the programme. Addressing the programme she said, "India is best known for agriculture. Agriculturists are the backbone of our country. The programme was organized with the objective of recognizing upcoming farmers and promote agriculture. This is a good opportunity for party-workers to engage in such works, in order to encourage rural sports and farmers."

Prakasha Shetty Padebettu, Kaup BJP constituency presided over the programme.

Achievers were felicitated on the occasion, for their dedicated service in various fields.

Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, BJP state secretary; Matturu Rathnkar Hegde, district party president; Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLC; Lalaji R Mendon, former MLA; Udaya Kumar Shetty, Shymala Kundar, state executive committee members; Katpadi Shankar Poojary, district party spokesperson; Suresh Nayaka, chief secretary; Kutyuru Naveen Shetty ; Yashpal Suvarna and Githanjali Suvarna were present at the gathering.

BJP district vice president, Suresh Shetty, welcomed the gathering. Majuru standing committee president, Ganesh Shetty Heruru, proposed the vote of thanks.

Sathish Shetty and Srinivas Aithala hosted the programme.
