Bengaluru: David who executed filmy escape from prison, arrested

Bengaluru, Sep 4: Notorious thief David, who had fled from the central prison here at Parappana Agrahara on August 30 by hiding himself in a gunny bag placed in a truck carrying vegetables, stands arrested.

Three teams had been formed to nab the prisoner who had hoodwinked security men when escaping. Policemen said that David, after coming out of jail, had visited the house of his grandparents at Geddalahalli, and also some of his acquaintances and friends living at Ilthur in Devanahalli, Hebbal, R T Nagar, Sanjay Nagar etc seeking monetary help.

After being told by one of David's friends that he was near Hebbal fly over on Saturday morning, a team led by northern division deputy commissioner of police, Suresh, went there. David took to his heels on seeing the police but the police doggedly followed him and succeeded in taking him into custody near a garage adjacent to Sevashram in Sanjay Nagar here, it is gathered.
