Bengaluru, Sep 6: Union minister for statistics and programme implementation, D V Sadananda Gowda, expressed the view that constitution of separate brigade on the basis of caste will be regarded as anti-party activity. He reasoned that creation of such brigades damage the organizational system of the party. Individual-oriented systems are not good for any party, he said in a release.

Gowda's statement gains importance in view of the recent announcement of senior BJP leader and leader of the opposition in legislative council, K S Eshwarappa, making clear his intention to form Sangolli Rayanna Brigade public.

Gowda stressed that dalits and backward lasses are organized under different Morchas functioning within the party. "When BJP was in power, it identified all castes and communities and supported them with liberal grants. People know this well. Brigades if any formed separately will have nothing do with the party and I personally will not support such brigades," he asserted.

He said that he fully supports the decision of national leaders of the party to project Yeddyurappa as the next chief minister of the state, and that it is his duty to stand by this decision.

At the same time, Eshwarappa has clarified that no one will be individually invited for the meetings of Sangolli Rayanna Brigade and that he expects 50,000 people to take part in the first convention of the organization at Haveri on October 1. Anyone who supports the cause of backward people and dalits can attend the meets of the brigade, he added.
