Udupi, Sep 5: The golden jubilee of Sri Ganeshotsava Samiti, Kadiyali was set in motion by BJP state president Yeddyurappa on Monday, September 5 at Katyayini Mantapa in the campus of Kadiyali temple.

While addressing the gathering, state BJP president and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa said, “Lord Ganesha has an important place in Indian culture. He reflects coordination of all religions and connects bridges between Hindus, Jains and Buddhist.”

“Freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak fought for the unity of society through conducting public Ganeshotsava. He also worked in preserving nation's culture. Now many leaders are working towards creating awareness about religion, nation and society. Prime Minister Modi attracted other countries through his good governance and working on uniting Hindu society. But some anti nationals are trying to spoil peace and harmony of the nation. Youth need to unite for protecting Hindu culture and to spread rich cultural heritage of India,” Yeddyurappa added.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Shobha Karandlaje said, “Bal Gangadhar fought for Independence and introduced practice of public Ganeshotsava in order to promote public participation. Today, country is facing many challenges in the nation compared to earlier days. There were no differences among parties earlier. It is our responsibility to protect culture of nation passed on to us by generation. Many patriots sacrificed their life so that we can live in freedom. Now India is well known for advancement in education, technology and development.”

"India is becoming a centre for all terror activities. Anti nationals are insulting Indian gods through social media. We need to sensitise people on communal harmony. Anti nationals should get severe punishment. We need to work on strengthening Indian soldiers and think about creating awareness on preserving religious culture of nation,” she further said.

District-in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj presided over the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Madhwaraj said, “Freedom fighters fought not only to gain freedom but also to preserve its culture. Public committees should work on it. True leaders are those who work hard to protect people and their culture.”

Junior seer of Pejawar Math, Sri Vishwaprasanna Swamiji blessed the programme.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, CEO of UPCL Kishore Alva, district party president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, Former MLA Raghupati Bhat, Mahesh Thakur, Vasanth Bhat, chief secretary of Ganeshotsava Samiti Kadiyali Raghavendra Kini and others were present.

Yeddyurappa on Cauvery water dispute

Speaking about the recent Supreme Court order on Cauvery water dispute, to reporters later, Yeddyurappa said, “It was shocking news for Karnataka. Supreme Court instructed Karnataka to release 15,000 cusecs of water for Tamil Nadu for next ten days. I had requested our chief minister to submit an appeal to Supreme Court regarding investigation of ground reality of Cauvery water but he did not. Now he has called the cabinet meeting immediately. Many districts in state are facing severe drought. He has to focus on state's problems first. Sadly he is busy in corporations, boards and Cabinet.”

If Politicians like BSY do not indulge in supporting BJP's some of the agenda under hindutva and those trouble causing splinter groups, then there is absolutely no need to protect Hindu culture, as it is a great, well acclaimed and also followed culture not only in India, beyond the frontiers of India too.

It should be mainly protected from insensitive politicians who use religion etc. for their gain in winning the elections.

Why these people are entertaining inferiority complex when the minorities would not even make a fraction of the majority Hindus. They are unnecessarily involved in divisive anti-minority feelings and spreading a wrong message which in turn create uneasy surroundings among the people and citizens of our Country. Let there be unity among the political parties and support National cause and peoples mandate. Leaders and political parties are worried only about party power.

By changing name and label one can’t escape from Indian culture. There are million of intellectual hindus who never surrendered to enforced religions but follow non-ritualistic Sanatana dharma. .
