M'luru: K'taka Rakshana Vedike protests over release of Cauvery water

Mangaluru,Sep 7: District unit of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike protested at DC office here on Wednesday September 7. They protested the Supreme Court's verdict on the release of Cauvery water to Tamilnadu.





Activists shouted slogans against the Tamilnadu chief minister, Jayalalitha and burnt her effigy.

Addressing the protest, Anil Das president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedhike district unit said, "Karnataka has always faced injustice on the issue of release of water to Tamilnadu. People in the state are without water and suffering because of this. The state government and union government have failed to provide justice with a proper dialogue and solution to the issue."

Nazir Bengre, Anwar and Arun Kumar were present at the meet.
