Mangaluru: 'No social boycott of any family'- Suralpady Jamaath committee

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Sep 8: Jamaath Committee at Bajpe Suralpady has said that membership of Bava Padarangi and his family have only been cancelled, and that they were not socially boycotted as reported in the media. It noted that Bava Padanrangi has complained to the city police commissioner, claiming that he and his family have been boycotted by the Jamaath Committee for questioning the style of functioning of Madrassa at Bajpe Suralpady.

Bava had said that he was kicked out of Jamaath after he questioned the justifiability of making the children stand in rain during the assembly at Madrassa. He also said that the current Jamaath committee there is unauthorized, and that a complaint about the decision of the committee has been sent to the state wakf board.

Jamaath committee members admitted that Bava had questioned about making the children to stand in rain, but added that he also spoke arrogantly thereafter and derided senior priest of the mosque in harsh words, that too addressing him in singular. Therefore the general membership of Bava Padarangi and his wife in the Jamaath committee were temporarily cancelled. If Bava comes out with unconditional apology, the issue can be amicably settled, they clarified.

Bava Padarangi however refused to apologize, saying that he had never spoken disrespectfully of the priest of the mosque. He said he was targetted for questioning the fact that the children were made to soak in rain. He insists that the constitution of the Jamaath committee is illegal.

Vice president of the Jamaath, Abdul Majeed, said that Bava Padarangi and family were removed from membership and not subjected to social boycott as claimed by him. He said that his membership was cancelled after he failed to attend Jamaath committee meeting in spite of having been served with notices in this regard thrice.

First of all, this news should not have flashed in the media.

This type of cases/issues always happen in each and every community and religion and everywhere. This is not at all a big issue. This issue can be solved amicably within the partiescommunity. I do not have any right to poke my nose and flare up the situation. This is my opinion please.

Bava should respect the Jammath decision and should not invite media persons to solve the issue. This should Bava's attitude. He should not be rough. If Bava has no faith in the Committee he is free to leave the place and settle anywhere else.

I think there are issues pertaining Jamath Committee and BAVAKA....Assembly in school/Madrasa are common ..But soaking in the rain is a trivial reason to agitate?

Who brought media persons in such numbers?Bava himself is an Scribe!!!The matter would had been settled amicably but Bava's arrogance towards SYSTEM is not fair.SOCIAL OUTCAST is alien in BAVA's community and illegal in law point of view.If he think Jamath or Madarsa Committee is illegal let him complain to competent authority (WAKF)Such suspension in membership of Jamath Committee is common for valid reasons but here it was taken out of proposition....The chain of event particularly attack on scribes were utter condemnable.

First of all a mosque does not have a priest. Just a prayer leader. Anybody can volunteer to be a prayer leader,

Secondly people of all religions address their god in singular.

Why then a priest cannot be addressed in singular? Is a priest more important than a god?

Anyway, as an atheist, I have no issue with any god or any priest. I hardly have a need to address them - singular or plural.

SK, your point is nonsense. What is to do with the children's dress? The father and children look well dressed and appear to be presentable

The issue should be resolved between two and no point of dragging it into public.
