Raichur, Sep 9: Relating to an incident in which Gularga Electricity Supply Company (Gescom) branch manager and other staff were attacked on Wednesday September 7, a case stands registered against MLA representing rural constituency, Thipparaj Havaldar, and eight others. Gescom branch manager, Javid, and other employees had visited Chandrabanda village in the taluk to stop unauthorized drawing of electricity.

The case stands filed in Yapaladinni police station under which jurisdiction the said incident occurred.

The complaint also has named Chandrabanda gram panchayat member, Dastagir, and some others. After coming to know that some of the villagers had got power connection illegally, Javid and other employees had visited the village to disconnect them. Some of these families called the MLA over phone, after which the MLA reached the spot and joined the villagers in quarreling with Gescom employees. It is said that the MLA even slapped Javid, while other villagers assaulted the staff and obstructed them from discharging their duties. Javid claimed in his complaint about these happenings.
