Puttur: Progressive farmer killed in motor bike - container collision

Puttur, Sep 11: A motor bike rider was killed in a collision between his motor bike and a container at Amchinadka on Mani-Mysuru state highway on Saturday September 10.

The victim was Shreekrishna Prasad (45), son of Babu Rajendra Gowda, resident of Kormbadka, Perlampady in Koltige village in the taluk.

Prasad was returning home after dropping off his wife at Sullia. The container truck hit the motor bike driven by Shreekrishna Prasad from behind. The rider was tossed to the road due to the impact of the collision, and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital at Puttur but he lost his life before reaching the hospital.

 

The deceased was a progressive farmer. His wife runs a beauty parlour at Sullia. He routinely dropped off his wife at Sullia for work in his two-wheeler, before returning home.

Prasad is survived by parents, wife, and a son.

    Shree Krishna Prasad was a progressive farmer and a precious life is lost. Was he wearing a helmet. The erring driver should be punished.

    The use of helmet is of no use and wearing of seat beat in cars is of no use, if we have such drivers who only want to speed. The law should punish the driver of the so called vehicle which caused the accident, otherwise we will have more deaths like this. If the punishment is severe then the bus and heavy vehicle drivers will respect other drivers/riders. By the way my condolences to the family of the departed person, may is soul rest in peace.

    Yes. Such a wide road and no discipline in driving.
    Driver should be made to serve at least seven years in prison. No matter who it is.
