Karwar, Sep 11: A techie from Bengaluru drowned at Kudle beach near Gokarna in the district on Saturday September 10. The victim was Puneeth J Jayaram (26), working for an IT company at Bengaluru.
Puneeth and five of his friends had come to Gokarna for pilgrimage and tourism. All of them had ventured into the sea to take bath, when Puneeth was dragged in by the undercurrent in the sea. Policemen were called. After some effort, the body was recovered and sent for postmortem.
A case stands registered about the incident in Gokarna police station.
