Kundapur: Illegal cow slaughtering for sale, three arrested

Kundapur, Sept 11: Following a tip off, Kota police raided a shed of a house near Kodi-Kanyana, arrested three persons and seized the cow meat on Sunday, September 11.

The arrested are Muneer, the owner of the shed, along with Firoz and Aslam. They were caught red handed while turning meat of three cows into packets.

Following the information that the cow meat was converted into packets for selling after slaughtering the cows, Kota police sub-inspector Kabbalraj raided the shed along with the other personnel.



Kota police personnel Basavaraj, Sathish Handhadi, Raghavendra along with the other personnel participated in the operation under SI Kabbalraj.

A case stands registered at Kota police station.

    Ironically,Indians can buy and consume Indian beef outside the country. How disgraceful and shameful is the mindset and the law to prohibit and do so just to create communal hatred and communal divide.

    It's a pity our people r ready to defend cow eating..but never write anything to defend an individual dignity.. Is cutting n eating cow meat yr ultimate priority?? Let's grow up n understand our priorities right first..rather eating beef..

    This raid and protest only in coastal belt of south and north Kanara. You cross the Talpady border toward Kasaraod and south, you can see cow meat (carcass) is hung on the post and sold openly on road side of highways. No Hindu brothers object.

    That is why it is Kerala. Muslims and Hindus/Christians live like brothers. No fanatism and religious hatred.

    First of all illegal is illegal whatever be it or whoever be it and the rule of country should be applied to one and all to big and small. if one want to have his choice there is the court one can apply and fight to get full support from the public as well as from the govt. and nowadays it has become a fashion if it is consumed by one community then make a big issue or else hush it up fully. not only muslims and christians consume beef(no need to mention who else). and i want to mention one more point if a cow get past the period of breeding and it becomes useless the owner sells it in some state there is law that one can slaughter the aged useless cow.(why the old cow is of the age of grandmother and can be killed it is only offensive to kill mother cow not the grandmother) oh my Indian brothers and sisters please wake up there are many other problems we are facing and the respected authorities are in deep sleep along with media they try to make a new issue to hide their responsibilities which they cannot fulfill Jai Hind

    Who ever started implementing this cow slaughter ban seriously after so many years have achieved their political goals at least to some extent although for the cow nothing has changed.Can anyone in this forum tell how to carry out transporting and slaughtering legally in Karnataka?if at all such thing called legal slaughter does exist..

    Why can't illegal cow slaughterers be trained in alternative income-generating skills under 'Skill India programme'?

    Hope some voluntary organisations take up these programmes, which would help in drastically bringing down such illegal activities.

    This is a never ending story. People who want to drink will do so at any cost even in spite of prohibition. Same way nobody can stop those who want to eat beef. They will manage to get it at any cost. Simply creating friction between communities for political reasons with unwanted policies.

    Now i think. Muslims should protest for ban slaughtering cow.

    If it hurt Hinduism i think. Muslims should respect it. And muslims should also protest to ban slaughtering of big companies like al kabeer.
