Mangaluru: ICYM episcopal city deanery organizes Yuvasamavesh

Mangaluru, Sep 12: With great zeal and enthusiasm ICYM - episcopal city deanery, organized Yuvasamavesh 2016 on September 11.




























The youth of ICYM - episcopal city deanery got together under one roof for ‘Yuvasamavesh - 2016’ at Rosario Church hall. Around 206 youth were present.

The programme commenced with a prayer song led by ECD choir group members.

ICYM diocesan director- Fr Ronald D’Souza was the special guest for the day. Vicar Forane- Fr J B Crasta, ECD director- Fr Anil Lobo, ECD president- Leon Saldanha, ECD secretary- Niel D’Souza, host secretary- Sweedal and convenor- Joel Concesso were present on the dais. ICYM diocesan president Jackson and other executive members were also present for the programme.’Yuvasamavesh 2016- youth movement, cradle for youth talents’ was inaugurated in a very innovative way. The day's chief guest, Fr Ronald D’Souza appreciated the youth and encouraged them to come and support NYC which is to be held next year.

On this special day Robin Cutino was felicitated by Fr J B Crasta for his service to society, varado, diocese and youth. Joel was also felicitated for being selected as the nominated member from ECD to the Central Council. Newly married couples who have served the varado as executive members- Rubin and Ancil Bennes and Robin and Shyla Cutino were also felicitated and congratulated. Ashoknagar unit members were felicitated for being called ‘The Best unit’ at the varado level by the diocese for their innovative programmes.

The president of the programme, Fr J B Crasta then encouraged the youth to have positive thoughts in all they do. Winston from Urwa unit conducted the ice breaker session and an effective session on the theme 'Youth movement, cradle for youth talents' was conducted by Arun Raj Rodrigues, followed by a eucharistic celebration led by the ECD choir and lunch.

The afternoon session was a fun-filled session where the dynamic youth of episcopal city deanery units presented their talents through group activity. This was really appreciable. Furthermore, various interesting group games were conducted in which the youth actively participated. 'Yuvasamavesh 2016' concluded with the feedback session that was conducted by Fr Anil Lobo. ECD president- Leon Saldanha thanked each and everyone for making this event a grand success. Daria from Bejai unit compered the formal programme and Gladson from Rosario unit conducted the games and group activities.

On the whole, Yuvasamavesh 2016 was a combination of fun, knowledge and entertainment. A fulfilled day for the ICYM episcopal city deanery youth and a day to remember.
