Udupi: Man from Sangli found dead in rented room

Udupi, Sep 13: On Monday September 12 morning, a person engaged in gold covering work was was found to have died in his rented room at Padubidri.

The deceased was Sharad Uttam Sawant (35) from Sangli, Maharashtra. Anand, who also stays in the same rented accommodation, had seen Sharad brushing his teeth on Monday morning at around 6 am.
At 9.15 am, when Anand visited Sharad in his room, and found that Sharad had died in lying down position with eyes open.

Sharad got in touch with Balu Tukaram Kanthe, who had joined work as supplier in a hotel at Padubidri that day. Kanthe too had come from Sangli as an assistant to Sharad, but was facing financial problems as he could not get a proper job. Thereafter, police were contacted. Padubidri police, who have registered case of unnatural death, are trying to find out the cause of death and other details.
