Sullia: Robbers who tied up family, robbed ornaments, nabbed

Sullia, Sep 14: The robbers who had tied up family members after forcing their way into the residence of Ramachandra, who owns M/s Bharath Agro here, and taken away gold ornaments worth Rs 8 lacs, stand arrested.

Police from Davanagere had recently arrested five persons who were accused of killing security staff of a temple there and taking away gold ornaments. During their interrogation, they revealed that they had conducted robbery at the house o Ramachandra here.

The robbers had entered Ramachandra's house on October 9, 2015. They had tied up Ramachandra, his wife, Manjula, and domestic help, Suneetha,before decamping with gold ornaments worth Rs 8 lacs and Rs 65,000 in cash.

It is learnt that the arrested robbers face about 40 different cases relating to thefts and robberies at different places. As per reports, a person who was working for Ramachandra in the past, had tipped the robbers about Ramachandra being a soft target. Police from here are now trying to locate him.
