Mangaluru, Sep 14: Nethravati Rakshana Samyuktha Samiti held community prayers at Kadri Manjunatheshwara temple on September 14. Prayers were offered so that the court hearing be favourable to the people of Dakshina Kannada over the Yettinahole project which has been tabled in the National Green Tribunal.

After offering prayers in the temple, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "To stop the Yettinahole project, along with the legal battle, we are holding prayers at all religious centers. Let God give wisdom to those politicians who are in favor of this project, so as to stop the project. We, the people of the district, believe in peaceful protests and not in pelting stones. Prayers offered are to bless the court hearing in favour of the people of Dakshina Kannada."

Vijay Kumar Shetty, president of Nethravati Rakshana Samyuktha Samiti, speaking on this occasion said, "After the court hearing on September 21, the Samiti will decide its next move. Prayers are offered to bless the court hearing in favour of the people of Dakshina Kannada. We were expecting the case to move from Chennai bench to Delhi and due to the blessings of God, it happened. This time around, the district received very less rainfall. And the main reason is due to deforestation. If the project materializes, several trees in the western ghats will be sawed down, which will affect the ghats gravely. All likeminded people should join the protest. "

Prayers are also offered today at Milagres Church, Mangaladevi Temple, Ullal Dargah, and Gokarnatheshwara Temple Kudroli from around later.

More details awaited.

This is a man made disaster. Prayers for such cases will not serve any purpose. When one is sick or suffering badly such prayers will be heard. Otherwise no effects.

The correct and only solution for the problems facing Tulunadu is to create a separate Tulunadu state. Rise up and do not stop till the goal is reached . Jai Tulu Nadu. God helps a person who acts. There is no use beating around the bush.

I am hundred percent sure that GOD will not listen to this prayer.
God is known to be impartial. How he can bestow bad on people from Kolar?
Rather pray for good rains and better brains for politicians to carry out massive rain water harvesting projects in Kolar.

    @ Mr. Shankar,
I agree God is just and impartial. But why do you think He will not listen to this prayer? People of Tulu Nadu are not against sharing water with the people of Kolar. We are only against the so-called Project of diverting Nethravati River, which is hazardous to the environment and ecology. It will destroy the Western Ghats, the forests, the surrounding environment, have adverse effect on rainfall and finally lead to water scarcity in Mangalore.

This year situation seems to be really tight.
Only Maharashtra region got good rain.

    Only alamatti dam full.
    Linganamakki, krs half empty .
If they implement yettinahole our people interests compromised forever. At least reserve 50% rain for our people legally.

To all those wise men who disagreed with my comment.
There is no link between Yetthina hole project and earthquake/tsunami.
Whether there are mountains, trees , rivers or not, earthquakes will happen coz of movement and collision of fault beds. Earthquakes can give rise to volcanoes and tsunamis.
Screws and nuts, i feel we should secure it safe ourselves. Never miss one!

THIS ALL EARTHQUAKE HAPPENING, WHEN U BLOW THE MOUNTAINS FOR THE DEVELOPMENTS ETC. CUTTING MANY TREES ETC
