Police raid homestay - arrest 4 including son of MLA for running brothel

Madikeri, Sep 14: Police personnel, who raided a home stay being run near Kushalnagar in the district on Sunday September 11, arrested four persons. They have been charged with running a brothel.

Four persons, Madhu, Pramod, Rajeev K, and Home stay owner, Prasanna, stand arrested. One of the arrested persons, Rajeev K, an advocate by profession, is said to be the son of JDS MLA from Turuvekere, MT Krishnappa. But the police have not confirmed whether this information is true. District superintendent of police, Rajendra Prasad, while confirming that four persons have been arrested, added that he does now know whether one of the arrested, Rajeev, is the son of a legislator or not.

The women found in their company were rescued and provided shelter at the orphanage at Kudige near Kushalnagar.

All the four persons have been remanded to judicial custody and their bail applications will be taken up at the court at Kushalnagar on September 16. The police had been sounded by someone about the fact that a brothel was being run in the said homestay located at Chikkabetageri village.

    Because one of the accused is a son of politician ,why should we blame political?One cant choose children ,or parents.Many children of politicians or well situated persons choose their own ways ,dont listen their parents.So dont blame always the parents.

    You are right Rita, we can only teach our children moral values and to do right things. Ultimately how to take it is their sole responsibility. But most of the times children of parents of good valueless turnout with same values.

    What do you expect? Law enforcers waste their time and resources by running behind cattle trafficking and those to offend other people. Where will they have time and resources to go behind sex trafficking.

    Anyways i believe that brothels must be legalized. By doing so exploitation of women will reduce by considerable margin.
