Anil Thadani, Cinestaan collaborate for overseas distribution company

Mumbai, Sep 15 (IANS): Film production banner Cinestaan Film Company has announced a joint venture with Mumbai-based distributor Anil Thadani. The new company, Cinestaan AA Distributors, will distribute Indian films overseas.

Thadani is an independent distributor under the AA Pictures banner. He will now be the managing director and CEO of Cinestaan AA Distributors, while Rohit Khattar of Cinestaan shall be the chairman.

"We are delighted to join hands with Anil, who is undoubtedly India's most prolific and credible distributor. Together, we wish to create the most reliable and transparent overseas distribution network to further the reach of Indian Cinema," Khatta said in a statement.

The first film that the joint venture shall release will be "Mirzya", helmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, starring veteran actor Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan and debutante Saiyami Kher. This shall be followed by other films of Cinestaan Film Company as well as those of other production houses.

"Extending from the domestic market to the international is a natural progression. More so to have a partner in Rohit who shares similar aspirations and passion like me, it has worked out perfectly for us," said Thadani, who is married to actress Raveena Tandon.
