Whenever I'm out of my studio, I get nervous: Jimmy Kimmel

Los Angeles, Sep 15 (IANS): Popular TV host Jimmy Kimmel, who will host the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony here on Sunday, says that whenever he steps out of his studio for hosting another event, it makes him nervous.

The host of the American late night show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", who also has an emoji dedicated to him that will appear any time when users tweet under the official Emmys hashtags during the next week, says that even if he has to raise a toast at a dinner, it makes him jumpy.

"Yeah, I get nervous. Whenever I'm out of my studio I get nervous to some degree. I'm including if I have to give a toast at a dinner or do the White House Correspondents dinner. When I'm out of my comfort zone, it makes me nervous. Here in this studio, I'm never nervous. But whenever I have to leave this building, I get a little nervous," Kimmel said in a statement.

Talking about his experience, Kimmel says that hosting a ceremony like Emmys is "as much work as you want it to be".

"It's one of those things where you just keep working on it and working on it. There were things that were current when you thought of it three months ago that maybe aren't anymore.

"You really can't decide on your jokes until the day of or the day before. For us, I like to be prepared, so we've been working on it for a couple of months now," the 48-year-old said.

Last year, Fox presented the show with Andy Samberg as host, while NBC chose Seth Meyers in 2014 and Neil Patrick Harris was CBS' presenter in 2013.

In India, the awards ceremony will be telecast on the Star English entertainment portfolio on September 19.
