2 families get compensation for deceased youths in electric mishap

Kundapur, Sep 15: Byndoor BJP president Sadananda Uppinakudru and former president B M Sukumara Shetty in the presence of BJP workers handed over Rs 25 thousand each from MP Yeddyurappa’s funds to the families of two youths who were electrocuted last year due to electric short circuit.

Sunil Mogaveera Kelahitlu (23), resident of Uppinakudru road and Manoj Devadika Kalkeri (24), resident of Talluru had died on the spot due to short circuit while erecting Pandal for Srinivasa Kalyana programme at Talluru, Kundapur taluk last year.

MP Yeddyurappa who visited the houses of the deceased after the incident had assured of providing compensation to the families of the victims.

Former BJP Byndoor president B M Sukumar Shetty who gave the cheques said that the amount was given by them to the families as Yeddyurappa could not come. 

“Rs ten thousands each are being paid from their own funds and Rs 15 thousand each are being paid on behalf of Byndoor BJP to both the families,” he said.

Byndoor BJP secretary Sanjiva Devadiga, Talluru local committee president Shivananda Shetty, former panchayat member Radhakrishna Sheregar Uppinakudru, Yuva morcha Talluru unit president Kiran Devadiga and Vice president Santhosh Mogaveera Talluru were present.
