Kasargod: Jewelry shop owner arrested for attempt to molest 6-year-old girl

Kasargod, Sep 16: Badiyadka station police have arrested the owner of a jewelry shop for attempting to sexually molest six years old girl.

The arrested is identified as Chidananda Acharya (48).

The incident had occurred on September 13. Chidananda had tried to molest the child who was coming to his shop situated at Perla market. The girl, who was scared, escaped and informed the incident to her family people. They in turn informed Child Line. The officials of Child Line complained to Badiyadka police station.

The police who registered a complaint took the accused into custody on Friday, September 16. Both the accused and the victim were subjected to medical tests. The accused has been produced in the court and awarded judicial custody.

Police said that Chidananda is a BJP and RSS activist.

    Excuse me,should we believe this?Hard at least for me.Simple cause is what this 6years Girl was doing in his shop without her parents?where were they?whether the Girl must have misunderstood what his Intention was?what does the accused say and noone was in the shop or near by is not known.When really true ,then thorough Investigation should be done.Or any Intention of spoiling his Name by someone?Only pray and hope it is not true,because of small Girl .

    None of your questions are applicable here because in India it is not punishable offence to leave below 12 years old alone. Also what body touching happens in india is molestation in the country where u live.

    @Veera Pinto Mangalore,I doubt only because the Girl is only 6years old,goes to a jewellary shop,not any Sweets to buy.what she has in ajewellary shop?and are parents not responsible to see if anything happen to a small child,leave alone moleste but even accident or,abduct a child which takes place alost everyday.?Parents are responsible whether in my country or elsewhere to take care.

    Raghavender, it is in Kerala. Police deal all cases impartially in the state. RSS and CPIM are like mangoos and snake in Kerala and getting a bail is completely ruled out unlike the one who gets bail in Manglore for filming the nudity of female toilet users.

    It is a dirty politics.
