Udupi, Sep 16: Hit Konkani movie ‘Ek Aslyar Ek Na’ was released at Ashirwad Theatre in city on Friday September 16.

Jerry Vincent Dias, builder association president Udupi district, inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Fr Francis Carnelio blessed the crew and audience. While Bhuvanedra Kidiyoor, Fr Philip Neri, Fr Victor wished best of luck for the movie.

Addressing the gathering Jerry Vincent Dias said, “We are not producing film for profit but to entertain people. Audience support and encouragement are necessary for success of any film. I thank all the members for working day and night to realize this dream. After you have watched the movie, please speak about the film to others. Frank who has produced this film needs support from audience.”

Bhuvanedra Kidiyoor in his address said, “I am very happy to be part of the event. I have close relationship with Christian community and they have encouraged me a lot for my business.I hope that many more such Konkani movies will come out in the days to come. I have been heard about the quality of this movie and am told that many of them have watched it twice or thrice. I wish that this movie be a forerunner in the Konkani movie industry and reach out not only to Catholics alone, but impact the entire Konkani community.”

Producer of the movie, Frank Fernandes said, “People should support Konkani films in order to promote Konkani language.”

Valentine D'Souza, DYSP, CCBR, in his address said, “We have gathered here because of love for the Konkani language. My friends, who watched the movie, expressed that it is a family movie.”

Vasanth Nayak, theatre in-charge, Felix D’souza social worker, Rocky Almeda, Valerian Fernandes, Catholic Sabha Udupi diocese president were recognized on the occasion.

Steevan Colaco Udyavar compered the programme.

The movie has four shows a day at 10.00 am, 1.00 pm, 4.00 pm and 7.00 pm at Ashirwad Theatre.

The movie was also released at INOX theatre in Manipal later.

the entire cast and crew of the movie including director, lead actor Pradeep Barboza and actress Priya Menezes were present. The film has been released in many countries and has become popular.

    Fantastic actions and rolls of all the actors. Specially the roll of Jeremy - Claude Delima, the Goan Comedian (in fact all actors) very well acted. thanks Br Frank for a wonderful Movie to the society.
