Opening day of IRFW ended with some glamour on runway

New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS): The opening day of seventh edition of India Runway Week ended with showstopper Mandana Karimi walking for designers Studio AV by Gaurav and Nitesh. She oomphed the runway with her confident walk and beautiful smile.

Studio AV by Gaurav and Nitesh presented their collection titled 'Dhaage' at the fashion gala. Highlighted was the journey of threads into a masterpiece via a range of clothes. The entire collection is handmade in threads with a little bit of zardosi and dapka work to add some glitter.

"Our collection is going to have Indian textile as it's base with embroidery. We are using Silks from Bhagalpur, Muga silk from Assam and traditional Benarsi handloom fabrics," the designer jointly said.

The last show also had ‘Royal Riwaaz' collection by Delhi-based designer Aditya Khandelwal. He showcased some of the most intricate and extravagant pieces in a fusion style statement marrying the silhouettes from the British Raj to India's own traditional Mughal embroidery and richness.

"Each attire is designed with precision, and says something about the personality and taste of the wearer," said the designer.

Not only are these clothes and motifs designed to keep the modern woman's aspirations in line with traditional silhouettes and lines, but they also celebrate the glory she is rightly deserving of in today's day and age.
