Mangaluru, Sep 17: Ullal police have taken two suspects into custody for collecting money from 15 people after promising to obtain medical seats for them.

The suspects are identified as Sanjeeva (35) from Erode in Tamil Nadu and Thimmayya (40) from Madikeri. They had taken Rs 30 lacs each from students from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

As the duo did not provide seats, some parents of the affected students, who grew suspicious, went to Deralakatte medical college and inquired. The college administration informed that the admission tests were over and the seats are filled.

These parents later called the suspects to Deralakatte saying that they will give more money to them. Ullal station police immediately arrested one of them when he turned up.

They have also taken another suspect into custody based on the details provided by the first accused and started questioning both of them.

The parents should be blamed for paying such a huge amount to a stranger in the intoxication and madness for making their son or daughter a doctor, investing a crore for a MBBS seat. What would be the amount he would have to pay for a seat after 5 1/2 year for a MD seat, may be the 4 or 5 crore then.

    Despite NEET, nothing changed much.

This is not the first time and nothing new in the education field. Since so many years when 2nd PUC question papers can be sold and purchased for a sum. When in DK and Udupi there are so many professional college's only opened to make money and when they do not get their seats filled they have to approach the so called agents and now hence these agents are flourishing and taking the so called candidates for a ride, I mean the parents of the students.

Surprisingly, how do these seat seekers ( Parents of the students ) fall for all this ? Can a butcher / batliwala of Derlakatte get them medical seats ? I feel that the Parents have to be blamed for all this.

I just wonder how people can be that gullible to hand over such large sum...This is really an eye opener for parents who think that they can get everything by throwing money around forgetting there are con men in every corner who will be ready to grab all they can get.
