Sullia: Youth suspected to have undergone conversion attacked, hospitalized

Daijiworld Media Network - Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Sep 18: Reportedly, Sathish Acharya, who his family members had suspected to have converted into Islam, was attacked at Mandekolu. He has got admitted into KVG Hospital in the town.

Local block Congress president, M Venkappa Gowda, and office bearers of the party had planned to visit Acharya at his home on Thursday evening. The family was informed about this prospective visit by a local. After coming to know about this visit, it is said that Sathish Acharya tried to flee in his Maruti Omni vehicle. Some people, who came to know about this, chased him in vehicles, it is said.

As the car crossed Murur bridge and was moving ahead, some activists of Hindu organizations reportedly intercepted Sathish and posed questions to him. During the course of this process, one of the persons present, Karunakar, attacked Sathish.

In the meanwhile, local police sub-inspector reached there and made enquiries. Later, the issue was settled amicably in the presence of some leaders, it is said.

    Rita Germany.
I think you should read the Scriptures of cultures which punishes Apostasy & proselytysation of their faiths. I think these days it is not so difficult as Internet will give authentic texts also. I would like you to comment after spending your little time over this to know whether your thinking is the same or not.

All over the world peace is getting disturbed on the basis of religion. There is nothing wrong in conversion in democratic country but you are dividing the people by conversion where the rift starts between two religions to take supremacy. After few years India name will be changed if it survives the war of religion.

    Kiran,

Sathish Acharya converted to Islam willingly. Neither he was forced to convert nor lured him with ration card and money. He was not comfortable with his original faith so he changed somewhere good. And he is free to change his mind now also. But surely he will not...

    I agree with Ummar.

Sathish Acharya converted to Islam willingly. Neither he was forced to convert nor lured him with ration card and money.

But persons like Ummar should use the same yard stick. Any Indian irrespective of sex, caste, if they change their religion with their own will, are you willing to wish them good luck and allow them to live peacefully.

What point are you trying to make?
Are you saying that this conversion was just for increasing headcount as Christians do?
Its funny to know that Muslims need to increase headcount in this way!!

I feel this conversion incidence is just to create a communal tension in the area. That is all.
