Rapper held at LA airport after luggage reveals loaded gun

Los Angeles, Sep 18 (IANS): Rapper Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., was recently detained by the police at the Los Angeles international airport after a loaded firearm was found in his luggage during the screening.

"Further investigation revealed that the bag contained items belonging to one of the suspect's travelling companions who left the screening area and boarded an aircraft for departure," said airport police officer Alicia Hernandez.

The man is reportedly Coolio's bodyguard. He was arrested along with the 53-year-old rapper, but they both are said to have been released, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"As you can see, I'm at P.F. Chang's having a meal and having a few drinks," Coolio said in a video following his arrest.

"I'm fine and I appreciate everyone's concerns."
