Mangaluru – Lorries to go on indefinite strike from Monday in twin districts

Mangaluru, Sep 18: Karavali Karnataka Lorry Owners Association has informed that all lorries will remain off the roads in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts from Monday September 19 for indefinite period of time until their demands are met.

In a statement, the association has said that Mangaluru Transport Contractors and Agents Association has refused to honour their demands of hike in transport charges even after many negotiations.

Their Two point demand also remains unmet, the statement says.

The strike is likely to affect all the parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The association has said that they will also stop loading and unloading of lorries.
