Udupi - Poojary should not indulge in unnecessary talks - Dinesh Gundu Rao

Daijiworld Media Network-Udupi (HB)

Udupi, Sep 18: Dinesh Gundu Rao, the working president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), who was in city here said that senior Congress leader should not make public statements concerning the party and should not indulge in unnecessary talks.

He was addressing media persons in a press conference at District Congress Bhavan, Brahmagiri on Sunday, September 18.

“This is my fist visit to Udupi as working president of state Congress party.” he said.

Mass contact programme, Indira birth centenary

“People have lack of knowledge about Panchayat Raj system and its rights. We need to create awareness on this. A public committee should be formed in all districts to educate and create awareness among public on government’s laws, schemes and programmes. On October 2, Congress will launch a mass contact programme in Vidurashwa village in Chikkaballapur district to mark Gandhi Jayanthi.” Rao revealed.

“National Students' Union of India will go to celebrate students’ day on October 15 to mark birth anniversary of former president late APJ Abdul Kalam. Congress has chalked out a year- long programme to mark birth centenary celebrations of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from November 19 this year to November 19, 2017.” he said.

Terror attacks

Replying to the question on terror attack on September 18 at Uri in Jammu Kashmir, Rao said “It is sad that 17 Indian army soldiers were killed. The central government should consider this issue seriously. Prime minister has to give more attention in providing security in order to maintain peace in the nation.

“Modi has failed to have a good foreign policy. Pakistan-India relationship is not at all good. Modi received a huge publicity inviting Pakistan prime minister for his swearing- in ceremony. But the relationship has not improved. Stern measures should be taken for containing the terrorists,” he added.

George and DySP Ganapati case

Regarding resignation of former state home minister K J George, he said, “There is no relationship between DYSP Ganapati suicide and K J George. It is all political conspiracy of BJP. There is no evidence in the case at all. Opposition party does not have any moral right to talk about this case. Government has no hands in IAS D K Ravikumar death case also. George should not be given his minister’s post.”

Janardhana Poojary

When asked about his opinion on Janardhan Poojary’s statement which said ‘If George comes back to power, Congress will not stay for longer in the state’, Dinesh Gundu Rao said, “Being a senior party leader, he should stop giving such public statements. He should not indulge in unnecessary talks. It is a politically motivated statement. AICC will take action on this issue, if necessary.”

Cauvery dispute

Speaking on Cauvery issue, Rao said “‘Supreme Court verdict is always final and everyone should obey it. Modi has the responsibility of protecting the interest of not only Tamil Nadu people but also that of Karnataka. Karnataka is facing severe water problem.”

MP Oscar Fernandes, district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj, Narasimha, general secretary, district Congress committee, MLC Pratapchandra Shetty, former MLA Gopal Bhandary, Manjunath Gowda, chief secretary NSUI, Kaduru Manjappa, Sandeep Chikkamagaluru, Sundary Manjappa, in charge of KPCC, Shashidhar Padubidri, Kishan Hegde Kolkebail and others present.

pretty simple! Mr Poojary is always backed up by the AICC high command. Else, there is no one in the state congress has the guts to criticize wrong moves of the congress.

As far as, Dinesh Gundu Rao is concerned, eberyone knows he is a BACHCHA. His father was a junior member than Pojjary. lol

We have many individuals who want to be leaders in Cong. Its so easy, Talk about 'intolerance', bash PM & you are a potential leader with full of 'guts'. When elections come, you are in the record books, Its better to watch the top Cong leader in 'Rahul wit Jackie' video and learn.

ha ha ... some outside guy coming and speaking on a local leader. that also such a senior leader who got the party a name at Mangalore. Now when he says the truth against current corrupt leaders , obvious they don't like. they want some one who praise the party even though you are seeing the party dying. It's almost dying... few months remaining. next election will be clear washout of Congress. then let them go to a resort and discuss what's the hell Siddu did... what's the hell George did... what's the hell with their princess and queen... they may get enough time... may be few decades to discuss on this. But by then India will be clean under the leadership of Modi and these crooked folks may not be able to get an entry also ...

First educate the people how they can contribute to keep our beaches and also our neighbourhood clean and safe. If they learn this none of these equipments are required.

Joseph, I tend to agree with you here. A total revamp of the Cong leadership is the need of the hour. Someone with a vision, and confidence. Not somebody who pops up from 'no where' and shouts 'intolerance'. Such leaders will only end up watching the video 'Rahul with Jackie'.
