Mangaluru: Hidden camera in toilet - police to seek cancellation of bail

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Sep 19: City police commissioner, Chandra Sekhar, stated his department will be moving the court with an appeal seeking cancellation of bail granted to the accused relating to fixing of hidden camera in ladies toilet of Mangalore University and transmitting video footage from there.

Addressing a press conference at his office on Sunday September 18, the police commissioner noted that although a case has been registered against the accused, there have been allegations that the case cites sections of the law connected with minor offences. "There have been allegations that this was done under pressure from influential persons to enable the accused to get bail easily. We will talk to people who are making these allegations. If we find that people had brought pressure on behalf of the accused person, such persons will also be taken into custody," he explained.

The fact that the accused Santosh Acharya was able to secure bail within a day of his arrest had given rise to doubts in the minds of the people about the sincerity behind investigation of this case and also the case registered against the accused for this serious crime.

In the past former Union Education Minister Smriti Irani was trying on clothes at an outlet of the popular Fabindia in Goa, when she allegedly spotted a camera positioned to record inside the small room.Because of her political influence 4 people are arrested in this connection.

Where are those slogans of 'Bharat mata ki jai' when her daughter is disrobed?

Why the college management is not suspended this guy from entering the campus?

In his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a spate of rape cases have shamed India he urged parents to take responsibility for the behaviour of their sons rather than put the onus on their daughters. When our undivided Canara police will correct the son who caught in action?

Perverts should definitely not be allowed to move about freely in a civilised society. Our womenfolk are definitely not safe with these types of persons around. It is definitely society's/law-enforcement agencies' bounden duty/responsibility to ensure their safety.

This shows the downfall of moral and civic sense in younger generation. While installing Camera, he did not even think of his mother, aunt, sister and women in general. After graduation what does this young man try to become? Also, where are Bajrangdal,ABVP activists? why they are shy to explode the case and do a massive agitation of this serious crime on WOMEN and their dignity in our society ?

Pre-trial incarceration in offences of this kind is unnecessary. Police should complete investigation and file a chargesheet and then try and get a conviction and a good sentence. The competence of the prosecuting agency lies in that.

let's not debate why George got bail why not this guy... please. Lets not act stupid. Let's ensure this culprit will not get bail at any cost. I wonder who the hell agreed to provide the bail for this guy. Arrest him also. Or give them option... either this guy or the gentleman who gave the bail will be behind the bars... how stupid to get a bail in a day for such a inhuman crime... please... let's all speak one word that he should not be left free in public. he should be behind bars. or else no wonder such crimes will repeat with full daring by such criminals.

When a bail is granted it is best that the "under trials" maintain disciple and exhibit good conduct. It is sad that this person had a camera hidden in the toilet... for what purpose is a question to be answered. However nothing seems to escape the alert attention of our present Commissioner of Police Mr. Chandra Shekar.

    People,

I have an amicable solution for this...Court dos not easily cancels the bail once its granted...unless accused violates any of its terms...

Best thing is to put Santhosh in ladies toilet and lock the door from outside for a day....Crime and Punishment should match...
