Bantwal: Sexual harassment of boy - accused arrested

Bantwal, Sep 19: A person, who allegedly meted out sexual harassment to a minor at Vittal Casba village besides attacking him recently, was arrested on Sunday September 18. The arrested accused has been identified as Abdul Khader from Okkettur village near Vittal.

A few days back, Abdul Khader reportedly led a 14-year-old boy who studies in a local school, to a deserted place. After sexually assaulting the boy, he is said to have threatened the boy not to reveal about the incident to anyone. It is said that again on Saturday night, when the boy was returning after attending Madrassa, Khader stopped him and attacked him.

The boy thereafter narrated about his ordeal to his family members. The boy, who is injured, stands admitted into the community health centre at Vittal. The Vittal police registered registered the case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested the accused offender on Saturday September 17.
