Kasargod, Sep 19: The police department at Bengaluru could establish identity of a native from this district who was found unconscious there. The person who is set to go back to his home in this way happens to be Jayaram Bhat Y, native of Ballerikatte village in Kasargod district. The village lies on the border between Karnataka and Kerala.

After they stumbled upon an unconscious man aged around 50 at Hanumantha Nagar on the evening of Thursday September 15, the police had flashed his photograph through twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp group. The police, who had admitted the man into hospital, had also provided details of PAN card found in his pocket. A software engineer, Ganesh Kambar, who came across the posts, identified him and went to Hanumantha Nagar police station and provided details. He also went to hospital and confirmed the identity of Bhat.

Ganesh said he clearly recollects the face of Jayaram Bhat as he was the one who stitched the first ever trousers the former wore, after he passed SSLC examination. He also knows about Jayaram's father, Janardhan Bhat and that Jayaram had gone missing when he was 23. The family had conducted searches and failed to trace him then. Thereafter Jayaram's father and elder brother have died, whereas his younger brother, Chandrashekhar Bhat, continues to live at Ballerikatte, he explained.

The relatives of Jayaram at his native place were contacted. They have said that they would visit Bengaluru with necessary proof to accompany Jayaram back home.
