Archbishop offers sainthood commemoration for Mother Teresa

Bengaluru, Sep 19: Archbishop Bernard Moras was present at Holy Rosary Church, Venkatala-Yelahanka here on Sunday September 8 to offer a thanksgiving mass for the gift of St Teresa of Calcutta. Holy Rosary Church Venkatala is the parish were sisters of Mother Teresa work and the place Mother visited in 1978.




On Sunday September 18 morning, the archbishop offered a thanksgiving eucharist. Around 2000 of the faithful participated in the celebration. Before mass, he blessed and hoisted the flag bearing the image of Mother Teresa and unveiled her photo. He later garlanded her statue.

It was indeed the happiest day for the elderly members of the destitute home run by Sisters of Mother Teresa. The archbishop in his address to the congregation mentioned that Mother Teresa is a true champion of the poor and the downtrodden and she always said 'I see Jesus in the poor and the suffering'.
