Udupi: Hit by bus, pedestrian loses life in hospital

Udupi, Sep 20: A pedestrian, who was hit by a bus, inflicting serious injuries on him in an accident which had occurred at Kaup, breathed his last in the wee hours of Monday September 19.

Shivappa (60) from Bagalkot district, who was working as coolie here, was walking by the roadside on Sunday September 18 night, when a private express bus moving towards the town from Mangaluru knocked him down. He suffered serious injuries.

Shivappa was admitted into a hospital at Udupi immediately. He however, did not properly respond to treatments and succumbed to his injuries a few hours after the accident.

Kaup police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
