Mangaluru: Koti Parava Madavu chosen for Tulu Academy award

Mangaluru, Sep 20: Koti Parava Madavu has been chosen for the honorary award of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy for the year 2015. The award is being conferred on him for his rich contribution to Tulu folklore sector.

The award comprises of citation and cash component of Rs 50,000.

Koti Parava has got involved with Bhootaradhane, which is a unique feature of Tulu culture, since long. The award will be handed over to him at a function being held at the Chavadi of the academy on September 24.

Parava is a resident of Madavu in Keyyur village. He has been involved with Bhootaradhane since the last about five decades.
