Mangaluru : Sahyadri student dies in bike-tipper mishap, body lies on road for 30 mins

Mangaluru, Sep 21: In an accident that took place between a bike and a tipper at Nagori on Wednesday evening of September 21, the rider died on spot.

Ahmed Riyan, son of Riyaz Chenna,  a second year mechancial student of Sahyadri Engineering College, is the person deceased. He hailed from Bhatkal. He was staying in Bhatkal Hostel in Mangaluru. 

For more than half an hour of the death of Ahmed Riyan, no efforts were made by anyone to shift the dead body from the road.

Mangaluru rural police, who arrived at the spot, took necessary action. 

After getting the news, members of Bhatkal Hostel and Bhatkal Muslim Jamaath Mangaluru rushed to Wenlock hospital where the body has reached.

After the post-morterm body will be taken to Bhatkal.

    To all those commenting people should have shifting his body, no humanity etc etc. Put yourself in the position of the people around first !! Would u shift the Body ?? Pretty sure you would also just look and continue to do your work!! It's easy to comment but not that easy to act

    And p.s the riders head was completely crushed it wouldn't be convenient to shift either

    No matter what caused his death, where is humanity? Why didn't anyone shift him to a hospital immediately? Wake up Mangalore, please show humanity.

    We always tend to blame (find fault with)bigger vehicles i.e. when a bike hits a car, the car is at fault, when a bike hits a bus, the bus is at fault, when bike hits a lorry, it is fault of the lorry, when bike hits a pedestrian it is the fault of the pedestrian, same way when bike hits a divider it the fault of the divider, when a bike hits an electric pole,a tree or a dog, sure it the fault of either electric pole or tree or the dog but not the fault of the biker/bike.

    Here is another case of a bike rider being killed in a collision with a tipper. These accidents are ever on the increase. It is time that our Present D.C. along with The Police Commissioner forms a PANEL of people experienced in driving and hold regular meetings to ensue safety of various kinds of drivers.

    Our political parties spend a lot of money in advertisement to gain power but nothing they do for educational purpose. They must start mandatory road safety program to all the student who have vehicle every six months and if failed to do so they must suspend the license.

    Sad,noone helped him after the accident.Sure all of them were afraid of our Police uneasy questions.But at least someone could come Forward and see if any life is there,and summon ambulance or emergency doctor(is there any such facility in Mangalore?)some first aid could every one give when needed.Heartfelt sympathy to the parents ,Family.

    Providing bike to children its not a crime and its not a fair question to ask any parents, who has lost their child, if people can afford such kind of modern bike, obviously everyone wants to provide the best things to their children, accident and deaths are very awful and heartbreaking news but this incidence is a big question mark on our humanity, for several minutes a child was fighting for his life and not even a single person thinks to help that innocent child.
    Who should get blame? the police who perform their duty, however it maybe? or to the humanity who has also lost her existence.
    Who should get blamed?
    It's a serious question on our society.

    KTM Motor cycle is not a street motor cycle in fact its a off road motor cycle...... I do understand Mangalore roads are no less then off road ....... parents and Transport department holds equal responsible for killing this youngsters who are not capable of understanding the dire consequence of this speed bikes ...

    It is high powered KTM-Duke Bike. This racing bike is not suitable for Indian roads and most of the owners of this imported Bike are no more. Why a student requires a racing bike is left to the conscience of the society to debate? If not the student, the parents should have been more responsible. Leaving this young generation with high speed bikes to roads endangers not only their life but other innocent road users also. Do not blame the bye-standers alone as no bye-standers can have more interest in the life than the biker himself. Responsible driving shall communicate a strong message to the society and people around so that they shall be driven from the conscious within to act appropriately during a tragedy. Some actions and impressions may not prompt us to involve ourselves........Who shall be made responsible to this mindset?!......

    What nonsense? Racing bike? Really? It's a 200CC bike producing 24bhp, almost similar to the Bajaj Pulsar 200AS/RS/NS series. It's just that the riders who buy these bikes by paying a premium try to do justice for the premium price tag by ripping them on such busy roads and the consequences are deadly.

    PS: We do not not know who's at fault here, so let's not judge for now.

    Its because the power to weight ratio is not right... the bikes like 200NS etc with the same engine capacity and same technology are much more stable because of the weight where there is suspected illegal specifications for ktm power to weight ratios... the bike is too light for the high compression engine...

    It's obvious that people will blame the bike.....KTM is this KTM is that ...all sorts of rubbish. KTM duke is one of the best bikes in its segment. If the rider misuses the bike,neglects safety measures and goes hooligan you are doing very good work blaming the bike/company saying it's too powerful, it's too this too that etc etc. It's sad that we lost young person who was midst us. So pray for his soul instead of blaming the bike or suggesting 'Ban'.
