Mumbai Juniorthon will nurture a love for fitness in kids: Sonu Sood

Mumbai, Sep 22 (IANS): Actor-producer Sonu Sood, who is busy promoting his film "Tutak Tutak Tutiya", has come forward to support the upcoming Mumbai Juniorthon which is scheduled to be held in December.

"I would like to tell every kid to come out of their houses, leave your iPads and playstations.... It is time to run and make everyone proud. Fitness is one thing that should be fed to everyone from childhood itself. It will nurture a love for fitness in kids," Sonu told IANS.

The Mumbai Juniorthon is an annual running event for children and junior athletes in Mumbai. It is being organised by Party Sharty Entertainment Pvt Ltd under the guidance of Bhavna Mehta and Amit S Mehta.

Sonu, who is known to have an uber fit physique, also said: "It's a great thing that a marathon has been planned for the kids. I think you really need to work hard and prepare yourself and just make everyone proud.

"Outdoor activity is one thing that is missing these days. It is important for everyone to bring that awareness and get children on the field."

The event, last year, was attended by celebrity kids like Harshaali Malhotra, Darsheel Safary and Avneet Kaur. Mumbai Juniorthon 2015 was even supported by Bollywood celebrities Jacqueline Fernandez, Vivek Oberoi and Sharman Joshi.

This year, the event is conceptualized and planned on a bigger scale in terms of the number of participants (3,500) and overall expected footfalls (12,000).

Mumbai Juniorothan 2016 is being presented by Radius group on December 4 at the Bandra Kurla Complex.
