Kasargod, Sep 23: The police peronnel from here have taken into custody two persons in connection with assault on a night beat policeman recently.
The arrested persons have been identified as Issac Ahmed (19), and Muhammed Rameez (19), both from Parakatte.
Allegedly, a ten-member gang had attacked Mahesh, a member of the district armed reserve police contingent, when he was on night patrol duty on his motor bike. He was writing down the registration number of a motor bike that was parked by the roadside under suspicious circumstances when he came under attack.
Policemen said that eight others are absconding and that search for them is on.
