Maroon 5 to headline Airbnb Open Spotlight


Los Angeles, Sep 23 (IANS): Pop Band Maroon 5 is set to headline the Airbnb Open Spotlight, a festival which celebrates art, music, film and local businesses here.

Taking place on November 19, the event is the finale of the third Airbnb Open Festival, with performances by top bands and DJs, an exclusive film screening, art and theatre productions and a showcase of small businesses.

Maroon 5 will be performing here as an extension of their North American tour of 2016. Also joining the stage will be Swedish pop star LÉON.

The festival will also have the screening of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone starrer "La La Land" giving Airbnb Open Spotlight attendees the chance to see the film which will otherwise release in December 2.

Performing at the Los Angeles Theater, arts company Strut & Fret Production House will debut a theatrical spectacle. The festival will also have a Shop Small Market.

"Airbnb Open is designed to be a festival of experiences that represent the local culture and flavour of our host city. This year we find ourselves in Los Angeles, a city with many layers and incredible diversity of talent," said Chip Conley, Head of Global Hospitality at Airbnb.

"At Spotlight, we are bringing together the very best that Los Angeles has to offer from Grammy nominated musicians, Oscar nominated actors and actresses, to up and coming local performing acts and businesses," he added.
