Sullia , Sep 23 : A man was brutally murdered at Aivarnadu near here on Friday, September 23.

Ismail Nelyamajalu is the person deceased. He is the husband of Vahida Ismail a former member of taluk panchayat.

As per details, Ismail was on his away home after attending court. He had stopped his Innova car at the Aivarnadu mosque for his prayers. When he came back to his car, he was attacked with lethal weapons and murdered.

Two years back, there was an attempt of murder on both Vahida and Ismail in Sullia. They had taken long time to recover. Police protection was provided to Vahida after that. A person named Siddique was arrested for the attempt and he was released later on bail. 

Past enmity is cited as the reason for the murder though it is yet to be confirmed. Some sources said that property issue is the main reason for the murder.

Vahida has been active in politics. Ismail too was a Congress worker and held positions in the party. 

Bellare police have rushed to the spot.
