Udupi, Sep 24: A mini bus toppled over a car resulting in injuries of four persons on Saturday, September 24 near MGM College here.

As per details, the driver of the mini bus coming from Shivamogga via Manipal, braked suddenly to avoid a Honda Activa scooter which was turning without giving any signal. The bus skidded in this process and hit a Renault car parked on the roadside and toppled over it.

While three bus passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident, the driver of the bus has been seriously injured. All of them are taking treatment at a hospital in Manipal.

Major mishap averted

The bus stopped few feet away from the electric pole situated near the accident spot. This saved the passengers of the bus from greater mishap.

108 Ambulance arrives late

108 Ambulance which was supposed to arrive in time, came after 20 minutes of phoning the service. But people, who could not wait so long, took the injured in a private vehicle to the hospital.

Owner of car falls unconscious, admitted

The owner of the Renault car Anitha Suvarna, who arrived at the accident spot, fell unconscious with shock and was taken to hospital. It is said that she had come for her driving classes and had parked the car for a short break.

Looks everybody ignored on sentence. "braked suddenly to avoid a Honda Activa scooter which was turning without giving any signal". He or she is the real culprit. They does that. These 2 wheelers think they need not follow any rules. they feel they own the road... unfortunately there is another sector which also think road is theirs... that's the bus drivers. so when they do mistake and penalize I don't feel. but unfortunately a non related vehicle is impacted. May be now she will not be compensated if it's a road side parking or no parking zone. Any ways... at least 3 people will learn lesson due to this... lady who parked her car just for a short duration also, will not park like that in future. Bus driver also, since injured badly, will be careful in future. The key contributor , the 2 wheeler which turned all of sudden with out nay signal, trust he or she will be careful in future, to avoid such accidents.

It's a regular story by reckless drivers to say a two wheeler took a turn without signal. Why was the bus overspeeding? These buses now-a-days with turbo engines & power steering are overspeeding is common. Our great interceptors catch only two wheeler & cars...these buses give "mamuli", so they can drive as they wish.. corrupted system.

This Udupi - Manipal road is very dangerous. The Drivers of busses from Karkala, Shivamogga are driving like they are in national highways. City speed limit to be implemented immediately also speed limit boards also to be installed there.

He was driving bus not toy,, may be u dont drive vehicle, so u dont know that vehicle dont topple just braking hard, it topples when u drive over speed n zig zag... this driver's license should be cancelled once he got discharge from hospital,, what if there were people in car??? Whose mistake?? Car or bus??? N if he is serious then he did himself not by others.. n if it is scooters mistake then remember there should be safe distance while driving....
