Mangaluru: Lancy D'Cunha elected national president of Catholic Union, Walter Pinto for state

Mangaluru, Sep 25: Lancy D’Cunha has been elected as the national president of All India Catholic union in the 62nd Annual general meeting held on Sunday, September 25 in Kolkata.


Lancy D'Cunha

Lancy D’Cunha is the first person to be elected as the national president from Mangaluru and Karnataka in the 97 years old All India Catholic union. He is the first from South India after thirty years to hold that post. He had served as vice-president before.



Lancy D’Cunha has served in various capacities in the Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh. He is an active and well known social worker hailing from Bondel in city. 


Walter Cyril Pinto

Walter Cyril Pinto from Udupi has been elected as president of the union for Karnataka state. Walter previosuly served as Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh president. 

Both terms are for 2 years.
