Sullia, Sep 26: As per information, the possibility of land deal having played a role in the murder of Ismail Nelyamajalu president of coastal minority unit of Congress is, quite high.

It is said that Ismail had struck some land deal with a person from Mangaluru relating to a land at Bellare. A dispute had arisen between them on this issue. There were differences over right over the land and there is likelihood of this dispute having taken away Ismail's life, sources said.

As per a theory the disgruntled person could have got in touch with locals who had scores to settle against Ismail. A murder conspiracy would have been hatched, and apparently the murder was executed by an experienced gang. Police are now concentrating on this theory and their investigation is moving on this direction, it is learnt.

The investigating team is said to have gained access to some important information in the case. Police have been trying to nab the culprits.
